thecomp
A round. A society day. A full season.
Run the comp. Enjoy your round.
Every format, scored properly, live. Stableford and stroke play through to skins, Nassau and banker. thecomp does the sums so you can play.

Live scoring
Score it as you play.
Tap the scores in on the green and walk to the next tee. Everyone in the group sees the same card, and the whole field sees the board move. Nobody adds up your round in the bar afterwards.
Big targets for a gloved hand. One person can score the whole group.
Every group feeds one board. Net, gross, points or holes up, whatever the format calls for.
Scores are kept on the phone and sync the moment you're back in range.
Shots received hole by hole from the stroke index, so net scores and points are never argued over.

Every format
Pick the game. thecomp knows the rules.
Twenty-seven ways to play, from a Saturday Stableford to an eight-a-side team match. Pick one to see the real scoring screen and the board it builds.
Money
The bets, settled before the bar.
Three kinds of money in golf, kept apart so nobody's confused about what's owed.

The Ledger
The books for a league, across a season.

- Who owes what, in one list
For organisers
Running it, not just playing it?
Society secretary, league admin, club captain. Everything below runs from the same app your players already score in, and replaces the spreadsheet, the group chat polls and the cash tin.

No minimum adoption
Not everyone needs the app.
You can't get forty players to install anything by Saturday. You don't have to.
Whoever has the app scores on the course. Their groups appear on the board as they play.
Paper cards are entered in bulk when they come in. Signed cards for the committee are the rules, not a workaround.
Same round, same leaderboard, same standings. Nobody can tell which scores came from where.
Compare
What you'd need three tools for.
Scoring apps stop at the 18th green. Club software assumes a pro shop. The spreadsheet assumes you have every Sunday night free.
Columns describe typical tools in each category in October 2026, not any single product. Partial means some tools offer it or it needs a paid tier.
My league ran on five things: Gamebook for scoring, a spreadsheet for leaderboards and ledgers, WhatsApp for chat, a random team generator for groupings, and a PDF for the rules. thecomp does four of them. WhatsApp does the fifth. The founder, who still runs that league
